As seasoned regular travellers including Kenya I was putting together a 3 week trip & wanted to include a short 4 day Safari.
I contacted Amboseli National Park & they recommended Robert & his company Sojourn Safaris.
I researched him in on the internet and social media & found him to have impeccable references & reports.
We engaged in Whatsapp messaging & put together our 3 week tour.
Robert arranged all airport & hotel transfers (4) in a very personal VIP style in very good vehicles.
We had a 2 day stay in Nairobi, day 2 with our lovely guide & driver Ephraim & private land cruiser to see the Elephant Orphanage, then the Giraffe Centre.
Day 3 of on our 4 day safari in our land cruiser with Ephraim.
We had luxury lodges in Amboseli, Tsavo West & Tsavo East.
Ephraim then drove us to our beach hotel in Mombasa.
Day 18 we were driven 10 mins to the local Airstrip in Ukunda and flown back to Nairobi for another 2 days of chilling out.
All arranged by Robert & his company & running smoothly with good communication & a very personal service.
After 2 days in Nairobi he arranged our pick up and transfer for our flight home.
At every possible moment Robert was there himself overseeing our service.
We felt perfectly safe in the knowledge he was available 24hrs & would sort out any problems should they occur (none did).
A superb travel operator & fixer & now friend.

In January 2024, we spent just under 2 weeks in Kenya before flying to Uganda for a week. We started with 3 nights in an Airbnb in the Lang’ata neighborhood of Nairobi for visits to the Giraffe Centre, Kazuri Bead Factory, Karen Blixen Museum, and our son’s Africa Regional Medic Mobile office. We slept in an Airbnb and arranged those activities ourselves.
When the planning got tricky and we wanted great transport and guides for an adventure road trip with lots of moving pieces, I contacted half a dozen providers and Robert Muhuhu of Sojourn Safaris was clearly a step above in terms of communication, creativity, flexibility, and taking our travel priorities and idiosyncrasies into account in order to provide the perfect experience.
First up was an outstanding early morning safari in Nairobi Nat’l Park with driver David followed by a visit to the Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage. Next day we headed out with David and a stocked cooler on a 4 day adventure loop north to Sandai Farm near Nyeri (west of Mt. Kenya) with a stop en route at the Maasai Market, then through Aberdare National Park to Sanctuary Farm on Lake Naivasha.
In part: horses, early morning birding, forest elephants, waterfall hikes, a birding/hippo boat trip, strolling through heards of zebra, giraffe, antelope, and wildebeests, biking/hiking in Hell’s Gate Nat’l Park, and climbing the Mt. Longonot crater on our way back to Nairobi. We had Airbnb places booked for those stops, too, and later flew from Nairobi to the Naboisho Conservancy/Maasai Mara and eventually to Uganda.
We had a really terrific experience planning with Robert – he is prompt to reply, creative in his approach, and provided a detailed itinerary. His attention to detail was wonderful – we enjoyed every experience and loved every guide. Our driver, David, was safe and reliable and great company and the vehicle (classic Land Cruiser safari rig) was so awesome several times we saw folks having their photos taken with it in parking lots.
For Kenya experiences small or long and complex, I highly recommend Robert Muhuhu and Sojourn Safaris.

I’m thrilled to help spread the word about Sojourn Safaris. I worked with Operations Manager Robert Muhuhu, and he couldn’t have been more helpful in responding to my questions and tailoring the trip to our needs. Be it email or WhatsApp, he was always so responsive and accommodating.
The price for a 3 day, 2 night safari in a really beautiful tent was easily 5x cheaper through this company than anything else I saw quoted online. For that reason, I managed my expectations going into the experience and kept them low, just in case lol. Happy to say, my socks were totally blown off. I have photos and experiences for a lifetime, and we were treated so kindly by all involved!! A once in a lifetime experience in nature…the sights were completely mind-blowing.
Thank you to Robert, who picked us up and drop us off directly at our hotel for this experience. Thank you also to Kikitu (or Douglas) who was a 5 star guide and just the funniest, warmest guy.
I will 100% return to do another trip through this company.

We built our program for a 9 days tour in Kenya according what we wanted to do (hiking in Mt Kenya, Aberdare, Naïvasha Lake, hell’s gate and Mara) and Robert organized everything perfectly.
He was the only one who answered our wants perfectly thanks to his knowledge about local activities, places and it was perfect. We had a van with a private driver/guide (Mike, the best one) who showed us all the animals and the most beautiful landscapes.
We learnt a lot. For each activity, we had a very professional and friendly guide. All the people we met were really nice and welcoming. They told us about their culture, their country and we had a lot of fun! All the lodges were super nice too, especially The Ark in the Aberdare.
We had all the facilities requested to feel comfortable. And we really appreciated the fact that we could adjust a little bit the program during the trip, in order to do the things that really mattered for us.
We liked the fact Mike adapted the program to the weather and was so careful about us!

We took this private tour to Nairobi National Park during a 6-hour layover en route to Tanzania.
The mini-safari was truly amazing: we saw Giraffes, gazelles, ostriches, heads of soaking hippos, beautiful birds, zebras, water buffalo, lions, several rhinos, crocodiles, all within a 2 hour period, all in their natural habitat right outside Nairobi!
The guide John was very knowledgeable about the wildlife and where to find them. The negatives include the vehicle itself which was not functioning properly on many levels, needing to stop for gas, and difficulty finding the car in the parking garage at the airport.
All in all I would recommend doing this as it was a great layover activity, and nice to have a private situation and to be picked up and dropped off at the airport.

I booked my honeymoon with sojourn safaris, i quickly received a digital copy of my itinerary with all the information i needed to know.
They also sent over a confirmation email within 24 hours of booking with all our information and sent me an email with all the documents that i needed to fill out prior to my arrival.
The safari was amazing, their guides very knowledgeable. They were all extremely friendly, professional and always there to answer any question we had. i was very impressed by them. i would recommend this company to anyone.

I found this company on Tripadvisor and the reviews were good so I booked a day out to Nairobi National Park. Robert asked a lot of questions so he knew exactly what we wanted to see and do, he was very professional and priced the trip competitively, he arrived on time with our driver for the day and everything was perfectly described, the itinerary was also very good, he then left us in good hands with an experienced driver.
The following day we booked another trip out with Robert and once again it was excellent, we had a different van and driver but he was there to make sure everything was ok and he also had arranged lunch at a fabulous lodge for us rather than another packed lunch, attention to detail excellent!
We had trouble booking our train the following day as we needed a local mobile so he arranged everything for us and printed the ticket conformation for us! Nothing too much trouble and we were very happy with the service!
Would recommend this company definitely!

The tour to Nairobi National Park on Saturday, the 12. Of November was really great. A whole day in this park, what a wonderful experience.
A lot of animals like Lion, zebra, giraffe and many others. And not to forget the many birds, about 80 species, including different birds of prey, waders or kingfisher.
A great day, hope I can come back again.

I had a 12-hour layover in Nairobi and I wanted to see the city. I organized a trip with Robert over WhatsApp and he met me at the airport. We had a great day driving around the city and stopping at the Nairobi National Museum.
Robert and his colleague were very knowledgeable, friendly, and welcoming. It was a great experience and I felt really well taken care of.
He even helped find a rapid COVID test clinic, which was required for my flight. Can’t wait to work with Robert again!

Such an incredible day! David the guide was amazing. I had only one day to go visit MASAI MARA from Nairobi and these guys made it happen picked me up at 4:30am drove out to MASAI MARA did a 5 hours game drive then visited the MASAI people!
So many animals and so much knowledge shared. Would highly recommend the service.
Will definitely be going again through these guys.

On a stopover and wanting to go on safari.
Found contact online and very efficient whatsapp contact. All arranged via whatsapp. Also last minute changes made (driver Joseph drove us to dinner instead of lunch).
These tours are always a little expensive, but sojourn was definitely competitive and hassle free. Good and proper English (spoke English in front of us, very polite).
Sojourn is run professionally and meeting “western” standards,
I’d recommend highly.
