Here are 8 Day Itinerary of the 8 Days Samburu Nakuru Masai Mara Trip
A representative from Sojourn safaris will meet you on arrival at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and transfer to your Nairobi Hotel for an overnight stay on Bed and Breakfast basis.
Today, you will have some excursions in Nairobi starting with a tour to the David Sheldrick elephant orphanage near the Nairobi national park. Listen to the public lecture and see the baby elephants being fed and also touch them. Later you will drive towards Ngong hills and go to the Karen Blixen Museum which was home of the famous author of the book ‘Out of Africa’ and relive the colonial era history inside her former house. Later our drive guide will take you to feed, hug and take selfies with Rothschild giraffes at the Giraffe Centre.
Later you will drive to a local restaurant and enjoy lunch before returning to your Nairobi hotel for dinner and overnight on bed and breakfast basis.
After breakfast you will depart Nairobi driving through the central Kenya highlands where you can watch tea and coffee plantations along the way. See the distant Mt Kenya peaks on the right, the second highest mountain in Africa and drop into the Northern Frontier District of Kenya past Isiolo town and into Samburu.
Samburu is a dry patched land of contrast with dramatic hills, rugged terrain, acacia grasslands and Doum palms lining up the banks of the Ewaso Ngiro River. Samburu is known for its unique and rare animals and bird life. The rare animals include the Beisa Oryx, the blue necked Somali ostrich, the gerenuk, gravy zebra, reticulated giraffe and the Greater Kudu.
The Samburu national reserve is a great place to watch the elephants and big cats especially when they come to the river Ewaso Ngiro daily for their drink. Arrive in time for lunch and afternoon game drive at 1600hrs. Dinner and overnight stay at your camp / lodge on full board basis.

Grab a hot buffet breakfast and depart Samburu for Lake Nakuru national park. This 177sqkm park was created to protect the huge flocks of over 1 million lesser and greater flamingos and the huge bird life in the park.
The huge flamingo population has given Lake Nakuru a pink rim until recently when the flamingo population has drastically reduced. You will make a schedule stop over at the Thompson falls for scenic and rest stop. Drive on to Nakuru driving on the eastern escarpment of the Great Rift Valley arriving in time for lunch.
Go for an afternoon game drive around the lake to see the endangered white and black rhinos, lions, flamingos, buffalos, leopards, zebras, hippos, hyenas, among other animals.
