Day 1 – Nairobi  to Lake Manyara

Your tour starts with a 7.20am pick up from your Nairobi hotel or JKIA airport and drive to Lake Manyara. This 8 – day private safari covers lake manyara – serengeti – ngorongoro – &  Tarangire parks in Tanzania.

8-Day Lake Manyara, Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Tarangire Safari

Day 1 – Arusha Arrival for Lake Manyara

Your 8-days lake Manyara, Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Tarangire safari starts with your arrival in Tanzania. Our driver will pick you from the JRO international airport for the transfer to the Arusha Tourist Hotel. Our team will give you a briefing on the tour this evening. Dinner and overnight at your hotel.

Day 2: Arusha – Lake Manyara

Your 8 days – Lake Manyara – Serengeti – Ngorongoro – Tarangire safari departs with a pick up from your Arusha hotel for Lake Manyara. Depart from your hotel after breakfast at 0800hrs towards Lake Manyara National Park. Pass through beautiful Masai plains and arrive in the park late morning for a game drive in the park with packed lunch.

After lunch, go for an evening game drive to see the tree climbing lions, elephant herds, buffalos, and Masai giraffes. The park is very picturesque with its ground water forest, acacia Tortilis forest, the alkaline lake and steep mountain sides. The lake is home to more than 300 species of birds including resident and migrant species. Check into Lake Manyara sunbright camp or lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3:  Lake Manyara – Serengeti

On this day, you will wake up early for a morning game drive around Lake Manyara. Return to lodge or camp for breakfast and depart for Serengeti national park. Drive through the Ngorongoro highlands and enjoy the views of the Serengeti plains from here before descending into the Serengeti.

Check in to the Seronera campsite or lodges for lunch. Afternoon game drive in Serengeti to see the big five animals including the lions, buffalos, rhinos, elephants, and leopards. There are also many other wildlife including the hartebeests, wildebeests, gazelles, zebras, hyenas, giraffes among others.

Day 4: Serengeti

Early morning breakfast at Serengeti campsite or lodge. Spend the full day in Serengeti national park with full day game drive with packed lunch. Explore the breadth of Serengeti and get a chance to see the over 1.7million wildebeests, 260,000 zebras and 300,000 gazelles. All these animals are calving between the months of January to April and the large predators converge in the Serengeti and Ngorongoro plains for the feast.

Return to lodge after watching the sunset over the plains with animals forming haunting silhouettes on the horizons. Dinner and overnight at the camp.

Day 5:  Serengeti – Ngorongoro

This is your last day in Serengeti, the land of ‘endless plains’ in Maa language. Serengeti is the largest national park in Tanzania and is home to millions of wildlife. The grazers move south to the grassy plains from the woodland areas of the north in November to December. It is in the plains where the calving of more than 250,000 wildebeest calves takes place in February and March. The wildlife begin their long march north in April and through to August where they go as far as Masai Mara in a 3,000km migration in search of pasture.

Depart from Serengeti for Ngorongoro crater. You might see the big five animals of lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard and rhino on your way out. Arrive in Ngorongoro and you will glimpse into what awaits you in your tomorrow game drives simmering lakes, green grassy plains and overflowing numbers of animals. You will spend your night at one of the best lodges or tented camps in Ngorongoro national park.

Day 6: Ngorongoro

Wake up early to catch the amazingly beautiful sunrise over the edges of the crater. Ngorongoro is a 260sq km caldera bowl that is 610m deep and is home to more than 25,000 animals. This makes Ngorongoro crater the most densely population protected area in the world. The crater is alive with life sustaining rivers, alkaline lakes with flamingos and a woodland and grass land ecosystems. Here you will see the elephants, buffalos, giraffes and the audacious lions.

Ngorongoro crater is such a beautiful place to do a game drive due to the abundance in wildlife as well as the picturesque steep green walls that forms its boundaries. The crater is a UNESCO world heritage site due to its richness as a biodiversity hotspot.

After your packed lunch, you will climb the steep crater walls to your accommodation in karatu area. Relax for the evening in one of our calming partner lodges for a warm dinner and soothing night filled with dreams of big cats.

Day 7: Ngorongoro – Tarangire

Waking up to the golden sunrise, you will enjoy a sumptuous breakfast made from fresh local fruits, milk, fresh bread and cereals to revitalize your body with new energy. Depart the Ngorongoro lodge towards Tarangire national park. This park is known for its large herds of elephants and its seasonal swamps.

From your vehicles roof top, you can see the swamps and the Tarangire River and go in search of many animals including giraffes, buffalos, wildebeest and zebras. Possibilities abound to run into a leopard’s kill or a lion on a hunt for a buffalo. You will take an extensive game drive in this park and drive back to Arusha.

Day 8: Arusha Departure

Morning breakfast at your Arusha Hotel and transfer to the JRO airport for your flight back home.
